I have standard interior in my 68 hardtop. I want to install the houndstooth seat covers but keep my standard interior.

Do I need to replace my seat foam in order to use these covers? What about the rear seat, will the cover fit over my standard rear seat?

The anser is................... it will work fine for both, so yes.
I would replace the foam anyway, new foam will feel better.

thanks! I've been told both, but wasn't sure who was right. The foam is cheap anyway, would it make more sense to get the deluxe foam or is there no difference? What about the rear seat, any differences?

We did this...as I remember for the front, deluxe foam is needed...standard foam is different...the rear is just a recover

SC42 is correct, When using houndstooth upholstery, you must you deluxe seatfoam.
