Woke up this morning and MY laptop had the correct time, but no lil window telling me it had changed. My wife's laptop is an hour off. It get's weirder though... We have this lil "weather station" sitting on the kitchen counter. It tells date and time, inside temp and humidity, and outside temp. My wife tells me (I haven't verified yet) that this device shows the correct time. This is a battery powered thingy, not connected to anything. We got it in a christmas grab bag... Christmas of 2005! DjD Mar 11th, 07, 09:01 AM I believe they are working towards leaving it at daylight savings for good. I think moving it up 3 weeks is part in preperation for that...at least so i have heard. Wouldn't that be nice, during the energy crunch years ago we went to DST and stayed that way, never should have switched back... The real reason is to conserve energy cause of more daylight. Since the orig studys that prompted the change new studys now say there will be no energy savings... DjD Mar 11th, 07, 09:02 AM Daylight Saving Time happened 2 or 3 weeks early this year. If your not up to date on your patches your computer will Spring forward at the normal time. And don't forget that DST was extend an extra week on the far end. We fall back a week later than normal now... cd playa Mar 11th, 07, 09:06 AM Do you do the normal Microsoft updates? no, you have to down load tzedit from microsoft. here the link than follow the directions. http://support.microsoft.com/gp/dst_hu2?systemlist=w32 DjD Mar 11th, 07, 09:17 AM no, you have to down load tzedit from microsoft. here the link than follow the directions. http://support.microsoft.com/gp/dst_hu2?systemlist=w32 I believe that is only for Windows 2000. The updates refered to are for Win XP, Vista it's built into already. If your PC is set to some form of auto-update you got the patch in Nov '06... Old baldguy Mar 11th, 07, 10:02 AM I herd it's to save hydroelectric power (amount saved I don't know) and 300,000 barrel's of oil for the 3 weeks early and week or two later in winter, so there's the reason's. And as far as the computers being messed up OH well ,I just don't know how we were able (as a society) to survive without computers 20 years ago :D ,lets say we had to cut our electricity use in half as a society and use for the basics of life so computers are gone, how would we go about business, would all the information stored now on computers be lost, nonexistent, bank accounts 0 balance,401K's (I am sorry sir there is no record of you having a 401K), paychecks wouldn't get paid ??,city records lost (everything that use to be done by hand ) lost in the big black hole????What would we do now???? Sit around spit and pick our nose…We never had identify theft before computers (or very little),sexual preditores pretending to be 13 yr old what ever to our young kids …Don't get me wrong I think computers are a good thing, as there would be no Team Camaro :( ,your job would not be offloaded overseas by a click of a mouse ... ..I would not be writing this Hehehe;) A little for though on a sunday morning ,To all the Camaro family have a wonderful 1 st. day of daylite saving's time...and always Happy Motoring beer time at 4 :beers: Ghostbuster Mar 11th, 07, 10:57 AM Dr. Ray Stantz (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000101/): Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies.
