I like the "weld on" stuff in the bottle. Rick's sells it. I've also used 3M Super Trim adhesive. It works well too, but the spray is hard to control.

go to your local ppg or dupont paint body shop supply store and buy the brush on stuff it in yellow supper sticky when applied correctly as stated in directions. they probably have it in bulk but will pour you off a pint, thats enough to many many headliners. also works great for repairing loose edges on door panels ect.

I used upholstory contact cement on my headliner or you can maybe use regular contact cement. It worked for me.
