So when we switched to the new forum a couple of years ago, the thread links changed. Is there a magic number to add to the thread number so I can see links to old threads? I search for info on the forums here and old links answering those questions come back as no good. Does that make sense? Example (old forum): http://www.camaros.net/cgi-bin/forum/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=18;t=000338 . To convert it to the new forum format I tried typing in http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?p=000338 but it goes to the wrong thread (should be a link to something about gear noise). Is there some kind of offset to add to the 000338 to get the old thread in the new format (like 500338 or something)?

Where did you find the links to the old forum? I wasn't aware that any were still on the system as the files are long gone. We left it running for a year or so.

They do not convert over via number or anything easy. A search is about the only way to locate them.

Here's one example: http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19397&highlight=gear+noise

I come across a link to the old forum every now and then when I search the current forum.

ah! That 'spains it. I sometimes miss the obvious ;)

The links will not work, the same as some to other websites and photos that have vanished. I don't know any way to get rid of them in the old posts either.

sorry!
