thanks for the pic;s the one that would be helpfull would show the inside of the trunk more an how close the top of the drop off's come to the inside of the quater panel . i really think the guy before me just cut this car totally apart an then tried? to put it back together all at once an not a section at a time . things just don't seem to line up right in the trunk pan area .

Hello, my car is currently in the rebuilding stage and I want to make sure they do it right. My question also is in regards to the area inside the trunk where the drop offs meet the 1/4's (complete trunk, drop offs, inner and outer wheel wells and quarters are being replaced). I too need to know how close the drop offs come to the 1/4's.... do they butt up to them and are then seam sealed or is there suppose to be a gap. The guy at the shop has one complete side clamped together and the drop off is up tight to the 1/4. I seem to remember being able to fit my fingers between them on this side (driver's) with no problem and the gap being a little smaller on the passenger side but I'm not sure. Any close up pictures of the area as well as measurements would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Eric.

I am in the process of replacing the right side of my original trunk drop offs on my 68. There is a gap of about 3/8 to 1/2 inch between quarter and drop off. I do not have any pictures. I do not think they should be attached to quarter because of flexing but i am new at this also.
