: clutch fork hitting firewall

I am converting my 67 rs camaro from an automatic to 4 speed. When we got the motor and tranny on their mounts we noticed there was no room for the clutch fork to be pushed in. It only had 1/8" clearance from the firewall and the bellhousing I am using is part #464697.

Any Suggestions?

are you using the 621 bellhousing? You need GM 3892632 clutch fork.

The 697 bellhousing is a direct replacement for the 621. You do need to make sure that the clutch pivot ball on the 697 is on the top boss. Thats the main difference between the 2 bellhousings. The 621 only has 1 place the ball can be mounted to. It can like posted above just be the wrong fork. Also are you sure you have the fork mounted correctly on the throwout bearing.
