That's a neat looking car. It looks like the paint may be saveable.
If you want a real survivor, this one is close, but I'd want to see how much his $3K in new parts impacted the car's originality.

Old Blue, a great way to check for bondo is with a small magnet. If it doesn't stick there is no metal there. I tested my whole car before I bought it. I would definitely help you check it out if I lived closer! One of my buddies here paid a consigner $100 to investigate a car in another state before he drove out to look at it. The guy took it to his shop and did a complete inspection and sent pictures and findings. Good luck!

And the #'s on the car look OK, btw. Axle is a little early, but not enough to make me question that it's original.
