I just bought a 1967 327 4 speed Camaro... and found out the transmission locks up when you put it in reverse. It rolls fine in all the other gears.

Would I need to pull the transmission out and rebuild it, or what could be wrong?

Have you gotten under the car and looked at the linkage .. it may be binding .. there should be a threw hole to stick a screw driver in the shifter linkage to make sure all the gears line up when in neutral

if you start it up and got it in neutral it is fine and all other gears work but binds up in reverse. when in neutral and got clutch out it dont move anywhere. sounds like either a couple of problems when you go to reverse it grabs first gear also need some one inside and put it into reverse while someone looks underneath to see if 2 gears go into at once . only 1 rod should move not 2 rods.
