i have a 69 pre x code camaro and i need to know what color the canister is and the canister hold down bracket? thanks gary j;) ;)

mine is red and the bracket is satin black

anyone seen it different/same??

Mine's GM blue... orig.. but for a '68...don't think it changed?... The hold dpwn is flat black.

I tuned into Mecum auction on HDNet last night for you, ;)just in hopes of spotting one. Bingo! :hurray:Blue container, black hold-down. In HD it was clearly gloss paint.

I understood that all canisters for 67-69 were red. Later canisters were smaller and were blue in color.

I have 3 of these canisters and all are red...

Mine too, but I bought it later from my dealer. And it's filled with Nitrous.

Met a guy with a 69 Pacer at Carlisle. He sells the parts books and other things. He says the blue ones sell for a bout $15 while the red go for $65 and up. His feelings are that the red are correct for 68 to 73 while the blue showed up later.

There were replacement canisters that GM sold at the parts desk but these were not red.

The guy's name is sanpace on eBay if I remember correctly
