I have the PG out of my 67 and am pretty sure it isn't original, but would like to know how to ID it. I found a stamped number on a pad near the inspection cover on the right side and numbers on the pan too. The pan numbers I could figure out thru CRG and it appears to be the original pan, but the number on the case is 12 125393 which I'm thinking is the partial VIN... If so, is there any way to determine what car it came out of ?? It has a 14" flex plate which would indicate a base hp big block car unless it is just a replacement flex plate and starter to match ..
Any other numbers I should look for ??

Thanks

The letters on the tag identify the year, I believe.

The date code is on the pan, the partial VIN is on the pad on the pass side. The partial vin you posted is a chev (1) year ending in 2 (where is plant code?) Vin of 125393 is probably a full size car either 62 or 72. did they make powerglides in 72?

I didn't see anything else on the pad with the partial VIN. The pan has T7B 06N...Toledo Powerglide, Feb 6- 1967, night shift. The Feb date on the pan matches the build date of the car pretty well and I believe is original...3rd week of Feb 67, but the VIN is obviously not mine...:( my VIN is 143366. I thought since the VIN on the pad started with a 1 that it might be a early 325 horse 396 Camaro trans.

I don't think the powerglide was in existence after 69-70
