I have an 84 Camaro, it's a plane jane. It came origional with a 2.8l v6 with 4 speed tranny. I want to know what for gears, and rear end came with that style of Camaro.
I have a 350 with th350 tranny in it now.

since you had a 4 speed, this makes it easy, you have a 3.42 rear end, the five speeds all had different gear ratios depending on the engine.

thanx alot, I was hopping they would be 3:73s but oh well. Could I fit a 8.5 rear under my camaro without any mods?

No, they never made an 8.5 that fits a 3rd generation F-body.

how could i get a stronger rear, how much would a 7.5 stand up too. how much horses and tourque. Didn't they come with 7.5's i'm not even sure about the rear.

CamArrow the rear end will hold up to a fair amount of horses. they put the same rear in grand nationals and t/a's and so on. i am running a s10 with a stout v8 and have no probs at all. hope this helps.
