ITS ALIVE!!!
Last weekend I drove my Camaro for the first time.
It still needs a lots of work, but this is a huge milestone for me. :hurray:
I turned every bolt, welded every panel, fuel lines, wiring, brakes, 383, 700R4, and more.
..everything you see, all new, in my garage.
..with lots of suggestions from TC members, of course.

I'm pretty excited, and thought I'd share some video.

If you're un-familiar with my project, check out my profile pic or website
and you'll understand where I've been the last few years.

thats how i did it! no grill, headlights, or tail lights!

my first pass around the block had a gas can in the trunk and a hose that exited through the tail housing. haha it was so redneck.

That 1st drive out is always a memorable one...
mine was straight to the wheel alignment
my second was home
my 3rd was early next morning, loaded up with tent etc, and headed for a trip around the Nth Island of NZ for a week with a friend...sleeping on the side of the road, in sand dunes and in the bush.

Tony...
Boy..you must be all smiles still today :) Its getting there ! :D One thing is that your hood wasn't fully closed. BTW, I did the same thing back in 1989 with my 55 Chevy. My hood flew open, broke the hinges, bent the hood and cracked the windshield the day before I was to paint it. I had to go buy another hood, strip, prep and prime. Get new hinges and align it on the car etc. I still have that bent hood in my basement with the red paint spray gun test pattern on it. I hope you at least had it chained or a bungee on it....

thanks everyone..
I am all smiles..
especially since the hood didn't fly up in my face, (ouch!)
..and Thanks!, I like the series 40 flowmasters too,
but I hope the sound dampener and carpet quiet things down inside the car.

People ask me if I'm doing a "Frame-off" or "Rotisserie" restoration.
Its more like a "Complete Re-assembly?"
I want to find someone who will make me a hood emblem like this:

..and yes, I had to mow my lawn yesterday, and we're supposed get snow tomorrow..

Tony,
Go to a sign shop and have a stick on made like that. That way, when the GM police come after you for trademark infringement you can peel them off :)

Hey Tony,
Great job on the car. It looks and sounds great! I know how you feel having just gone through it myself. I just took mine for a short a mile or so madden voyage on Tues night earlier this week. No video though. I will be sure to get it on video the next time I take it out. I meant to go only around the block, but I accidently missed the turn back onto my street and cruised the neghborhood a little. My car has a few more parts on I than yours, like a windshield for starters ...LOL. I'm a bit further along than you. I did take it up and down the block once or twice before the front sheet metal was installed. That was interesting. The neghbors were all lookin at me like I was nuts. But doesn't it feel great to be out there for that first drive? I got some pretty funny stares. I bet you did too. My car has been a 7+ year project. That first time you back your project out of the driveway is always awesome. I should be on the road soon. I can't wait to finish up the wiring and install the RS headlights and grill. I'll be working on that this weekend.Again, your car looks awesome.

Heres what mine looked like when I went on my drive:
BTW the taillights were bolted in but not wired yet..
