1990 Corvette ZR1
19,230 original miles, Lotus designed engine (405 HP), 6 speed manual transmission, solid roof insert, as well glass roof insert. original window sticker in glove box.Power locks and windows, A/C blows cold. This car is in Arizona and is in unbelievable condition. It looks like it just came out of the showroom!! Any ideas on what it is worth? Looking to help a friend out. I have attached a couple of pics...

Here is a helpful link from www.nada.com (http://www.nada.com) .You may want to change your zip code to get a price in your area. Here is what it retails for in Chicago http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=1-21-1-5013-0-0-0&l=1&w=21&p=1&f=5014&y=1990&m=1035&d=6214&c=21&mi=19230&vi=2916&z=60652&da=-1&nx=1 NADA says $24,400 on the high retail side if that car is as clean as it looks with 19,230 miles. Right now the ZR-1 is getting no love in the collector car market. These Corvette's (ZR-1's) are extremely undervalued right now. If I had the money I would by a dozen of them and keep them for 10 years. Last week I was asked about trading my current 1969 Camaro for one now. I'm contemplating on making the trade if the right ZR-1 came along.

If this is the factory engine I do believe your friend is mistaken in his horsepower rating for the 1990 ZR1 engine. In 1990 the engine was rated at 375 horsepower. This can be confirmed both here http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/corvette/history.html (scroll down) and also here http://www.fatherlarryscorvetteshop.com/1990-1995_zr1.htm The 405 horsepower engine did not debut until the 1993 model year which was the Corvette's 40th anniversary.

Bottom Line: Great car your friend has there!! Even thought the retail is less than 25 grand, I would ask for 40k or more and see if he gets it. I know these Corvettes pretty well. A few of my friends had a ZR-1, and a buddy of mine back then drove one as a demo. The ZR-1 was produced from 1990-1995. FWIW, I owned my first 1969 Camaro between the spring of 1989 & the fall of 1994. I had more ZR-1's wanting to race me than I cared to count. Even my friend & his car. Even though my first 1969 Camaro looked all stock on the outside (14x6 Chevy Rally's) & inside (white interior) & under the hood (iron headed 396 w/ vac sec. Holley) the internals & drivetrain in that car would say something else and I would thump ZR1-'s when possible. My heyday was the ZR1's heyday. It was fun and I used the ZR-1 as a benchmark for my Camaro. Nonetheless THAT LOOKS LIKE ONE AWESOME ZR-1 and anyone would be proud to own it!!

Low to mid 20s.Be warned those cars are very expensive to work on and GM has dscontinued alot of parts for the engine.

There is a ZR1 web site. I will look for it. They have a huge classified section that should give you a idea.
