Hi. I had to put a new roof on my 69 Camaro and in doing so lost my originial, rivited winsheild moulding posts. I can't find any replacement posts... and wondered what anyone else has used in place of them? Should I use screws? Please help! Thanks, Amy.

How many do you need? I bought some from the ebay store mentioned above and I only needed 4. If you still need them I will give you some if you pay postage.

what do you mean by the rivets that hold front or back windshields moulding onto car? they sell them i bought them from ricks. you drill a tiny hole than new ones have a screw head on it to put them in.

That'd be great... I need 6 of them for the roofline. How much do you want for postage?

you need to find someone with a stud gun. any body shop should have one and have the mould rivits welded on the correct way screws and rivits not a good idea. makes the clips to tight and gives a place for water to go and cause future rust.

I agree... it's just that the posts do not exist anymore... can't be found. What I am reading is that people have no choice but to use screws. Unless you know of a source?

I got the studs from 2 suppliers and the screw in studs worked ok but some left the clip too loose. Use a #4 stainless sheetmetal screw... it will work perfectly. Actually better than the stud. The head is the perfect size and you can screw it in till you find the right tension. If your using the same clips I did you wont have a problem. just put some sealer on the threads. Look at my photo album for a pic or do a search on windshield molding clips. You'l get tired of reading. The clips I used that were recomended here are great because you can slide the clip a little each way to get the proper placement of the moulding. The other clips dont do that and if you install the stud or screw to low or high the moulding will sit the same. I got these from Stevescamaroparts.com and got the studs there too.
I replaced my roof skin and por15'd the inside of the channel before installing it. I'm sure if you seal the threads and treat the channel you wont have any issues for a long long time.
