We just put the color and clear down on Monday, but we had some problems on the last coat of clear.
We are going to sand and respray the clear.

But, my question is how long can I leave the tape on?
It is green 3M stuff from Finishmasters (local auto paint store) not Home Depot

We are looking to spray it this Saturday and take the tape off on Sunday, so it will have been on the car exactly one week.

One week is fine for green tape. Just don't do what I did and leave white masking tape on for a year. :mad:

Or white masking tape placed by previous owner, and left on for 10-12 years. Not a pretty site!!

we used the blue stuff you can get from home depot or orchard supply and after 3 days it left some weird marks and some of the glue behind. And because this is the first time we have used the good stuff from an auto paint store i just wanted a second opinion
