I purchased an OER vinyl skinned dash pad and I notice it does not have the same formed protrusion under the studs. My parts supplier told me of an outfit that restores the originals impeccably, but told me to sit down before he quoted a price. I did, that's why I bought the OER pad. Sorry for the verbose explanation, but it seems to me the problem of the OER pad dimpling when tightened might be solved by somehow filling the (missing) protrusion with expandable foam or washers or something. Anybody already gone through this?

nope i didnt but mine fit real tight and I got out my heat gun to soften it a bit and it formed on the dash like butter.

No. But I do know if you have your original dash pad it is worth it to send it off somewhere to restore it. It will fit in perfectly and they have steel "frame" underneath unlike reporoduction.

This is probably the company that he was refering to. I didn't see any prices but I believe that that they are $400+. There is an 800 number I believe.
