I just replaced the suspension on my 81. I put it back to all stock spring rate springs and leafs. Now i'm looking for the best possible shock to make the ride as good as you can get form standard coils and leafs. so anyone know a good combo to get the best ride out of a coil and leaf setup?

I'd check with Bilstein. By far the best bang for the buck in my eyes

If you don't mind a "firm" ride, I loved my KYB gas-a just shocks on my old '79. The handling improved quite a bit. I tried Monroe's and was really disapointed. They were too soft and two of them developed leaks in the first year. The KYB's weren't a rock hard ride but you definitely felt the road.
