So what is the best way to go with rear disk brakes on my 68??

I can buy a new rearend that has diskbrakes and posi for 1200 or a posi rearend for 900 and then do a disk brakes upgrade.

Are there some kits out there and what do they run...who sells them?

any classic car like ss396 or ricksgen sells the kits.

If your using your math I dont think you could put the disc setup on the $900 rearend for $300 (with new parts)

But are the disk brakes on the other rearend as good?? I think it came off of a 70's caddy? not sure..

If John will sell you that seville rear you will be set, just get some calipers and rotors (I'd buy from Rock Auto as the local shops don't carry them). I don't know what he'd charge for the thing??

The seville rear brakes aren't the most popular these days, but they work. You can take my 67 around the block and see how you like it....I have a seville rear with 3.73 posi and four piston discs up front.
