Would anyone have a picture of the correct installation for the above mentioned part? I can't tell if it should be secured to a value cover bolt or an intake manifold bolt.
As always, thanks in advance-

Thanks, that's what I thought. The only two manfold bolts on that side are burried under the carb so I'll have to use a combination wrench, rather than rachet wrench to get at them. :(
Anyone know the stock color of the clip? I assume it wasn't painted from the factory. The one I have was painted red and I sand blasted it clean, but you can't really tell what it looked liked 40 years ago. I'm thinking flat black would be best?

It's sort of a brownish color like spring steel.

Yes, use the fourth bolt back from the front to secure the clip.
As Unreal said, its brownish in color, only because the bolt is used is on the exhaust crossover and the heat transferred discolored it from the gray steel.

When used on a cast iron intake, the clip should be painted, since the engine was painted as a unit after assembly.
On an aluminum intake, it will be bare steel. The aluminum manifold (and clip) were masked during painting.
