Going to replace the 5 leaf multi set up I have now with new ones and going to go with poly bushings and pads. I'm trying to eliminate wheel hop without the use of traction bars , if thats even possible. Just wondering what leaf springs some of you are useing , and what the difference is between the 4 and 5 leaf set up. The springs that are in there now are old and should be replaced anyway. Finally if this does not solve the dreaded wheel hop issue , I'll be asking you this. which traction bars would be recommended to eliminate this issue? Thank you all for taking the time to read all this I know it's long winded. lol.

I'm running 5 leafs with poly bushings, no traction aids and I have zero wheel hop. The springs are old Rancho Challenger GT IIIs that I had sitting around the shop. They were designed specifically to improve handling and eliminate the need for traction bars. Unfortunately, they haven't made them for a long time!! Somebody else might make something similar?? I don't drag race this car a lot and wanted it to handle better than it might with traction aids.

I'm also running a 9" rear that is solidly U-bolted to the leafs. (no rubber mounting pads as on the original GM setup) and a sticky, race compound, DOT tire. The car hooks just great and never hops.

That said, I believe that most will agree that you can't go wrong with a set of Cal-Tracs!! Not cheap, but money well spent.

We put Hotchkis leafs on my wife's 73 Camaro and run 450 hp through it with no wheel hop first gen Camaro leafs are the same. Global west L1 leafs may work but warn if HP is high enough they may have problems. These are lowering/handling leafs so if you want the car to sit stock or higher, use something else.
