can anyone tell me how to remove clear anodizing from aluminum trim

It can be removed by simply sanding the piece, or steel wooling it...once the anodizing is removed, the aluminum will be very susceptible to pitting...is there some reason for wanting to remove it?

These folks: http://www.caswellplating.com sell an anodizing remover & a re-anodizing kit. Also, Easy-Off Oven Cleaner will remove the anodizing, but use it carefully. If you leave it on too long it can pit the aluminum.
