Hope this is okay to ask this question here. Situation is . am helping a friend get a vehicle restored. Weasked the painter to make up four sample paint cards. This has been several days now still no sample cards. He is being paid handsomely for doing this job. and gets a check every 30 days till job is done. then pay the balance. Any way everytime We ask him for the samples there is an excuse. I ask about pictures of progress does not have a camera. I 'm sure We are not being shanghied but am looking for a nice way to tell him , you have more excuses than a what?

Sure am getting bewildered with the excuses . He keeps saying he will have them tomorrow. Need a way to get him thinking get er done. I do not want to stop the job just a bit more cooperation from him.

i would go there and see car. for as paint colors any parts store that sells car paint has color chips.first ask him on phone wheres is car at in getting to paint than take a visit there.(i do lol)to see if he is lieing. i went today and yelled at him excuses excuses.he promised me paint on car by monday ill see.i supposed to have car by christmas of last year. but i dont know how much you paid so far or your cost on paint job.i seen so many people getting taken for money so just watch out.:beers:

I had the same arrangement when rebuilding my Vette, paided until the shop had almost 12 grand.

One day I got a phone call telling me they didn't have time to finish it, I got a almost finished frame and a $hit load of boxes.:mad:

DMV got me almost $3500 back after a hearing and I had to take a pile of parts to another shop.

The moral of my little tale is if they are getting paid, they have little reason to do much work.

Wow ! Not good . Hope this one does not end up on that dark side. The fella is working on this in a team effort with another fella. General conscense is that it will be done and done right. However ; I have some doubt about all that as I'm rather picky when this many thousands of dollars is at stake. Is doing this on the side from his regular job. Heck Idunno, I never took em! I just remember asking an old guy what the heck he said and what heck he meant by it. He used it about everything "So and so's got more xxxxxx than carters got little pills"
