HI All, new quarters should be in tomorrow...was just sitting in the garage looking at the rig and was wondering if I should try and Install them myself. I have a guy with a good rep in the area who will do them for 500$ a side. I figure I could take the thousand and buy a nice welder and have it for future projects. I have all of the necessary tools and can weld. How hard of a project is this for a guy with average mechanical skills?? Seems to me that getting them off would be the hardest part?? Where are the major spot welds?? Time estimates?? Seems to be around the door jams. Anyway I guess I am just looking for a little encouragement.

Thanks

Are the new 1/4's in for the 68 coupes? I was told that there was a problem with the stamps and that they were going to be pulled until resolved. Any updates would be welcomed.

Thanks

There's plenty of published info and experienced people out there to help along the way. It will obviously take longer than a proferssional but the satisfaction when its done will be much greater. Plus its not an all or nothing proposition. You can always abort along the way if it becomes too much to handle.

Good quarters are still a couple of months away. The only 67-8 quarters that are available that I am aware of is Golden Legion.(Marketed by Goodmark). If you don't mind extra work and the contours not quite correct then they are the perfect solution.

Vintage Camaro is correct. I have 2 of the Goodmark quarters. The left I have a problem with the lower seam not aligning up the the tail pan. Also on the left side the trunk tab that is welded to the tail pan is cut funky. Not like my originals were. The right side looks good. It will align correct as far as I can see. By the way, I am using a NOS tail panel too.
