I bet that is a bunch of BS... that is not even one of the cars from the series...as I read , on the web site, that is a car JS put together for some cheesy movie they did a few years ago before the remake with Willie Nelson. Then that car was used in a movie JS just did last year...it ain't even got no Hemi !

Mr. Tibbs, I was following you until "it ain't even got no Heim"! Sure looks like one to me and I'm in with the Mopar guys with my other car, a Dodge Challenger. Charlie

Looks like it may be this one:

Note that it is apparently being sold by John Schnieder himself.

Charlie, in the long paragraph before the pictures he says that it was a 426 Hemi but it now has a 511 crate in it. I dont even think it was born with a hemi because he says that the trophy plate thing says 426 hemi, not the cars actual tag.

I've posted before that I figure the real General Lee bit the dust way back about the late '70's to mid '80's so all it really is, is a VERY high-priced CLONE to me!!

I mean, what is the real General Lee car anyway? The show's production team dressed up many cars as the General Lee (packing a 318) that were used and destroyed in the film making process. In fact, I know a guy here in the Pacific Northwest that has one of those actual cars that he has kept in it's original condition. I guess you put John's name on it and you can call it whatever you want. I would guess that some car museum or high ticket collector is going to pick it up. When it comes right down to it, how rare of a car and where it actually fits into the big picture is such a convoluted question and answer that I have lost interest for that kind of money. Charlie

now almost 10 million! This is more than my entire family and ancestors have earned combined going back to the 1800s!

for that price, john is going to be able to finance a few movies. i guess he can now keep his rolls royce. in the tv ad, they mentioned "this car is a million dollar car". i think they passes that.

10 million dollars. youve got to be kidding me...that is absolutely crazy. $3 million was too much..i dont care what show or movie the car was in.

something fishy there. check out the other purchases made by the winner. nothing over $75. mostly pocket knives. now he's got 10 mil for a toy.

I agree. Completely bogus bidding. Ebay at its finest.

Did get a whole lot of free publicity for Ebay, though, I even saw it on the national evening news!

I emailed the guy saying how could you really consider this car to be a real car because it was not in the TV show. Of coarse no reply! A car done in 1997 is going for that kind of money? Give me a break! It's so much $, it's stupid! I am sure that one will be for sale again! If an actor can't sell his car word of mouth. It must not be that valuable or way over priced? How funny, the winner is in Ca. too! Must just be a coincidence? I like Hemi's, but good grief! :boring:

looks like you hit it head. just didn't fit the buyer's pattern. you'd think someone would have noticed.
