Wanted to give a shout out to Sean Murphy Induction for all you guys out there who might be looking into a new or different carb.

After swapping my old cast iron heads to some Edelbrock Performer RPM's, and with some help (thanks Brian) I desided that instead of having my existing Edelbrock 600 (1405) tuned to work with the new heads, for the same price I would get a custom SMI carb built specifically for "this" engine and not an out of the box job. Spoke with Sean and gave him all the info he was looking for. Cam specs, piston type, intake, automatic or manual, stall converter, rear gears, tire size... etc. He really covers ALL the bases. About a week and a half later I had my Stage 2 750 cfm Quadrajet specifically built to all my specs.

I thought that after putting on a new carb and new fuel lines with no fuel in either, that it would take a minute or two of cranking to get the fuel going. WRONG!! 5 seconds of cranking and it jumped to life and just purred. Only thing I touched is where I wanted it to idle at. I would highly recommend Sean Murphy Inductions to anyone out there looking. And no I do not work for SMI... just a very happy customer.

HUGE change over the old set up.
Old set up would "squeek" the tires off the line then fall flat. There was no "pull" accelerating from freeway speeds either.

NOW... tires have ZERO traction off the line clear into 3rd gear and pulls like a freight train on the freeway. Can REALLY feel it once the secondaries open and really have to watch the Tach now cause it will scream past my redline a lot quicker than it use too.

I also used Sean, who totally rebuilt my tri powers on my 427, and did an excellent job. He also tuned and re-jetted them on the dyno to run great....that's an art! If you're not local, he's worth shipping to, trust me!

:beers:
