View Full Version : 69 Camaro Project Rendering
fladoans May 4th, 07, 05:51 AM Please Note - If you are passionate about restoring cars back to their original glory - Don't look. I have done that before with other cars and I wanted to do something different.
So I decided to have a rendering done of the 69 Camaro project I am currently working on, to help me confirm the colors I had picked and some of the other misc details. I think the final results were fanatastic. Now I only hope I can get the car to come out as good as the rendering.
I also want to thank Carter Hickman for his work and patience with me. If you ever need a rendering done, I highly recommend Carter because he was great to work with, and he is truely talented on a computer.
Also the new EFI Forum here at TC came at a perfect time, as my current plans (subject to change daily) are to put an LSx engine in the car.

Winston_Rodney May 4th, 07, 07:16 AM Can you put me in touch with the designer? What price range?
Mr. B May 4th, 07, 07:33 AM That looks awesome. What are you planning on using for door handles and mirrors?
fladoans May 4th, 07, 08:58 AM Can you put me in touch with the designer? What price range?
His name is Carter Hickman. I can't find him on TC, but he is on www.pro-touring.com under the user name [toad32]. Price was very reasonable.
That looks awesome. What are you planning on using for door handles and mirrors?
Thanks
Door Handles are from a 00-04 Buick LaSabre, and mirrors are "Bullet" mirrors for 70 Camaro.

ProdigyCustoms May 5th, 07, 10:16 PM Car looks fantastic. We are using Carter for all our renderings now. Here is another of his works, our 2007 SEMA project for my wife Lisa. I do not want to steal the thread, just show off some more of Carters work.

Yes, I like the two-tones. And man that car looks cool and I love the colors.
bigtyme May 6th, 07, 05:53 PM I'm with you all the way, Ive been thinking about the two tone as well
davidpozzi May 6th, 07, 08:33 PM There is a very similar Orange/Black car done by Campbell Auto Restorations in California that will appear in a magazine soon. I think it will be PHR but I could be mistaken.
Nice rendering!

Nice rendering but IMO that color combo is being pushed too much as of late. It is definitely a cool combo but I expect the next couple of cruising seasons will show it to be all too common. I know 2 local vehicles in my area with that combo. One was a Ford pickup and another was some sort of late model wagon. I think ever since Trucks TV did the copperhead pickup that copper color has been being sought after. I am sure it will be nice but I think you should rethink the lower color. Just my opinion, do what you like best. Good Luck :)
BTW House of Kolor has a couple rigs in their gallery with the copper color on them. http://www.houseofkolor.com/hok/index.jsp
fladoans May 7th, 07, 06:17 AM I too have noticed the copper color more recently - even on factory stuff. But, I picked the color combo out over a year ago and spent a lot of time getting the exact color I wanted. It is now a custom color and I still like it - so I am staying with it.
I'm fairly sure there won't be too many 69 Camaro's exactly like it and none of the quality of mine.
PS - Thanks for looking.
whytry May 7th, 07, 10:02 AM I like the 2 tone!! Looks good... Nice touch using different door handles too!

Yeap - Carter drew it good - now I hope I can finish it that way.
Bob Totusek May 8th, 07, 02:53 PM Guys,
Please don't hate me for this comment because I love 67-69 Camaros as much as the next guy. My comment is that I don't know if I want to spend half of my waking hours working on my car and going through all of the frustrations and heartache when I find all of the rust and needed repair. My mechanical skills are very poor and sometimes I think I would be better off purchasing a "Crate Camaro" and adding my new parts to that ? My thoughts and my thoughts only.
davidpozzi May 8th, 07, 07:45 PM Bob,
Please don't take offense but you should start a new thread about your topic. It doesn't really relate to a 69 Camaro rendering.
I think your question is valid and needs to be discussed but in a separate topic. I agree that not everyone is cut out for a full rebuild. The best deal going is to purchase a late 4th gen Camaro and have some fun just tinkering with it.

That is a great looking car, and a great photograph with that background. People don't take into consideration the background that often and that is an example of a sweet pic!

Me Too! By the way I think I used your car as a visual aid in laying out the two tone lines. If this is the car I am thinking about it is posted on Lateral-g.net right?
Beautiful car and colors.
