Currently redoing 68 camaro convertible and seems new rocker panels (inner and outer) along with floors will be required. Any good tech books that I can get to give me measurements and directions to do this correctly??

AFAIK, there are no books that will give you the info. that your looking for. But I can tell you from actual experience that its alot of work. If you need inner and outer rockers, you might want to look for some better rockers for there are 2 more pieces in the center of it that you dont see. Are you doing this or farming it out. Full length floors or partials? How bout the rears?

What are you using for the rockers you are putting on? Are you buying new or used? The rocker panels they make are for hardtops. The conv rockers have a different shape at the top and are much heavier steel than hardtop rockers, never mind the thin aftermarket rockers. Also keep in mind that your car being a convertible that all the support that keeps the car from twisting and such is in the floors. Be careful how you decide to support the car so that it doesn't fold or get twisted when you cut off the bad sections. The last thing you want to do is have the car slightly twisted and then weld in new metal to keep it this way. If you never done anything like this before you may want to think twice about doing this yourself

Thanks for the advice guys. I am starting to budget for a restoration shop as far as the rockers and floors are concerned. I need rear floors also. I'll be doing trunk and quarters but I want to stay a way from anything structural like the rockers. Do you know how much extra bracing is attached to the inner and outer whell houses?/ Any help is appreciated at this point. thanks keith

There is all kinds of brace work on both wheel houses. There is a brace on each side of the floors where the ft. and rear floors join, another one on the underside that the cross brace bolts to. Of course the rear seat frame(welded to each wheel hse.)and the braceing on the whl. hse's.If you dont have a dedicated fixture to put the car on, and you want it to sit correctly and you dont have the tools or knowledge to do all this, take it to a body shop and have it done. For the cars sake.

Thats everything ahead for you if the rockers can be fixed, other than that, everything else is easy. Good luck and keep at it cause convertibles are the best.
