Just finished restoring a 70 z and wanted to ask everyone who has had to set valve lash what they ended up at. I know the factory specs of .024/.030 for the 178 cam is too loose. What have your experiences been?

I used the same method when setting up cold, but had things looser. Which is a good thing for break in. Now that I'm broke in I'm going to pull my lash down to the .021/.026 that is recommended here. http://www.camaros.org/302valves.shtml pdq67 May 5th, 07, 12:40 PM You are effectively making the cam bigger when you lash it tighter!! And the exhaust lobe is the same as the old 30-30 cam!! pdq67 |
