Ok, I said I wasn't going to go out tonight......but yesterdays tire spinning was bugging me.

What a difference a day and a little sun on the track makes.
I didn't change a thing.

First pass I left easy cause I figured it would spin. It didn't.
10.09 @ 133

Next three left as usual. 2000 rpm.
10.01, 10.03, 10.01 with a best mph of 133.7. A record for the car.
60ft's were 1.42, 1.43, 1.42. Maybe .02 -.03 slower than with the 4.10's.

The 1/8 mile timers only worked one run. 6.35 @ 108.

So it turns out that last night the track was just too cold for the VHT to work. And they kept spraying it. It never set up. No wonder it felt like driving on ice!
Tonight, no track prep at all.

So, it wouldn't run a nine tonight. I have no idea what the density altitude was. It sprinkled once...barely. So my guess it wasn't that great.
I'll call the 3.73's a push with the 4.10's at this point. I'm just glad the car began working again....I was worried.

And the pinion nut still didn't fall off! (I set up the gears)

congrats Ron. The 9 is there, and beyond with a bit better air.

Actually, I got my licence last year. Because it wasn't in the nines last night, I didn't wear the neck collar.....but did wear everything else.

Thanks,

Humid air aill slow the car down. Car reads very consistent, which is a good thing.

Much better! Glad to hear the TH-400 is hanging in there. I've got 3 in service right now and they are all working great at the moment!

The only thing I've noticed is that the 1-2 shift isn't as solid as the old trans. 2-3 is very quick and hard..
I'll keep an eye on that. If it doesn't change, no big deal.
It is interesting that the 1/8 mph is identical, the 60ft is off by .03 but the ET is off by a tenth, even in the 1/8. That could be air. I need a density altitude gauge.

Ron,

It's probably a good thing that the 1-2 shift isn't real hard (should still be crisp/quick) as it helps to protect the intermediate one-way clutch (sprag).

Low 10.0s first time out with the 373s - make a few more runs and it will be in the 9.90s again with more mph.

I agree. I just need to keep tabs on it to make sure it doesn't change.
