Saran Wrap just came out with a disposable plastic cuting board. I clipped one to my clip board and used it to mix my plastic filler and glaze. When your through, just throw it away. No clean up, cheap, easy way of doing things.

Try tempered glass, cut to the size you want. When the putty is dry, just take a razor and scrape it down..no cardboard fuzzies, no cutting plastic everytime you need to bondo..its neat.

I use a big old frisbee. After the excess dries, it'll pop right off.
I use a plastic knife & spoon to dip & mix. Toss after use...
Cheap but effective.

I got in the habit MANY years ago using a nice shiney piece of metal. In fact I actually bought a "bondo mixing board" at the paint store about 10 years ago. It is about 12x16 inches with one end folded up at a 45 degree angle and a slot cut in for a handle. I use a very flexable metal putty knife that is about 3" wide, AND a plastic spreader. I mix with the metal putty knife and use the plastic one for scraping the bondo off the putty knife and up off the board as I am mixing so I get it all mixed well.
I then have a red 3M scuff pad and a squirt bottle with lacquer thinner in it. I spray the board and tools with thinner and scrub them shiney clean EVERY use. The putty knife and spreader get the edge trued on a piece of 180 sand paper everyonce and a while so they are perfect.
By the way ALWAYS use rubber gloves when working with this stuff. That way it is easy to clean and if you are using the lacquer thinner like I do you don't get it all over your hands.
