Hey guys, looking for some opinions, I know I will get a lot. I currently have a toasted 700R4 in my car, specs below on the engine.

I am thinking of going with a Keisler or CC5spd TKO-600 or a 2004R with an approximate 3000 rpm stall based on my cam.

My car is not a drag car, I will occassionally go there but it is a fun cruise in car that still can get down to business.

My biggest thing is money, money in the sense that there are other things i'd like to do also....replace my Dart IE 200's with some new better flowing Aluminum heads, possible EFI, Hydraulic roller cam...etc. I want to stay under $6k for everything, no matter what the combo of upgrades are.

But I am getting the feeling that I will be let down if I go the auto tranny route, shifting a manual is just so much more soul stirring.

I have plenty of time to think about this as I am in Balad, Iraq right now and have a good amount of time left here before I get to come home.

So what would you guys do if you had 6K to spend on upgrades on the car I have listed in my signature?

I'd do the TKO first and foremost. Either trans you listed is a good piece and will muchly improve the performance and driveability of your classic. I just love stirring my own gears tho, so it'll always be 3 pedals for me.

I would install a "good" 700r4. How good was your 700r4 that you currently have installed ? From what I have heard a properly built 700r4 should handle up to 600HP. Make sure the trans. is built properly or don't bother with using it. If you switch to something else you would have to change the driveshaft etc. Maybe take a look here.

If you like shifting your own gears, then you made up your own mind already!!! GO WITH THE TKO!!!! and if you have enough $$$ left over, Id choose AFR eliminator heads.
