I'm installing a new pinchweld molding on a 1969 convertible. Can someone tell me how the pinchweld molding clips are attached? How tight should the molding fit to the body?

Does anyone have any tips or advice on this topic?

Thanks,

The clips should be placed on the car, evenly spaced. The molding is then snapped onto the clips. Tape the molding and somehow mask the body under the molding. As the molding snaps into place it will contact the body and take a bite out of the finish.

Thanks for the info! I have another couple of questions, shoud the clips be inserted onto the body with the prong side up? Are the screws that attach from the bottom used to secure the molding tightly against the body?

Thanks Again!

I don't recall exactly how to install the clips but I believe there is only one way. Test fit one in the molding, that should demonstrate.

The screws are the last step, install after the molding is positioned exactly where it should be. It has to be tight so the top boot cannot move it.
