I respattered the trunk in my 69 and there are several areas where something underneath is bleeding through causing large dark brown spots. Is there any kind of product I can use as a barrier before I put another coat of spatter on?

Not sure if this is what you need, but I shot semi-gloss black down first, then I did the spatter.

I used DP 90 epoxy primer. Remember, all the spatter paint is water soluable, so it's important to cover very, very well with clearcoat.

Should I use gloss or semi-gloss clear?

Larry how did the trunk pan turn out? Have you thought about por-15? Is it bleeding thru where it was welded or in another area? Have I asked you enough questions? John

I'd use semi-gloss.....or maybe even matte. The paint from the factory did not have much sheen to it.
