69Camarozz396 May 6th, 07, 10:42 PM I dont claim to be an expert so im leaving the final decision with you guys on the trim tag.
Good example of a Camaro thrown together to make a buck. The Buck maker restoration has to be 2 steps beneath the amateur restoration. Love the stripes and missing black tailpan. Engine compartment is a mess. Power steering hoses, brakes lines, missing shroud, cowl panel seal, squirters, misc rubber stops, window washing pump and reservoir, radio antenea. Looks like they drilled the holes for the heater core lines too low in the heater core cover and just added the cover plate for the lines as best as they could. :noway: Interior screams standard but is coded deluxe. This car is pretty but a mess.

ChevyThunder May 6th, 07, 11:24 PM Fake tag... rotisserie restoration.. I believe it, looks like it was done on Bubba's rotisserie at the BBQ Chicken Shack... the gaps are soo bad. If you rolled a marble down the trunk seem it would fall in and the rear spoiler on the drivers side is hitting the quarter panel , you can see the mark it has left... ugh! Watch your shins on the lower back edge of the door..... Sorry to rip the car but the between the fit and finish and the fake tag I didn't look much further
DanW May 6th, 07, 11:41 PM The unweathered circle on the center of the steering wheel horn shroud probably reveals its true heritage.
RamAirDave May 6th, 07, 11:50 PM Fake tag.
No question, about as obvious as they get.
xplantdad May 7th, 07, 11:32 AM Not that I would know...wouldn't an RS/SS have an SS steering wheel?
DanW May 7th, 07, 11:38 AM Not that I would know...wouldn't an RS/SS have an SS steering wheel?
Yes. Looks like it was changed from a standard bowtie to RS when what he should have put (since he's aiming to have it look like was an SS) was SS.
kz1000ltd May 7th, 07, 11:43 AM Hockey stick stripe ain't right either, cobbled together POS IMHO.........KZ
Fred Ficarra May 7th, 07, 12:18 PM Well, they did say it could have some minor flaws. Except there are too many to list. From the solid engine fan to the wrong rear panel paint and everything in between. Sure, it's ready for car shows. Any car is 'ready'. (and did you see the tacky paint on the interior-light door switch?)
wiskeesour May 7th, 07, 12:28 PM Fake tag. Again REALLY obvious.
Lawrence Shaw May 7th, 07, 06:11 PM I am really starting to get fed up with all of these jack offs out there screwing up the hobby. That car is a total POS and to be represented as anything else is a crime.
BelAirBob May 7th, 07, 06:24 PM Wow, not trying to rip either, but how do trunk gaps get that bad? Just awful.... Too bad. Love the color combo and the HT interior. A shame to waste it on such an amatuer effort. Trunk appears to be too small for the opening. Should have welded in some thin rod to get it right before painting.
68Z/28 May 7th, 07, 06:40 PM Yeah, that trunk gap is what I was shocked by the most.
Dayton68Z28 May 7th, 07, 07:04 PM What is up with that deck lid? I could stick my thumb in that gap.
rojo May 7th, 07, 07:12 PM Doesn't look closed to me. I don't think we'd see the mark from the spoiler if it were closed all the way.
Jonesy May 7th, 07, 07:55 PM The stripe is hideous :D
69 merlinpro565 May 7th, 07, 10:00 PM If you look @ the 6th pic, the trunk HAS closed on the rear quarter...the paint is gone! Ouch...
68zproject May 8th, 07, 07:30 PM Wasn't that on here before about the funny back-up lights?
Kermi May 8th, 07, 11:22 PM love the way they routed the power steering hoses, an put in the standard door panel with houndstooth seats...
al8apexer May 9th, 07, 09:53 AM what a cobbled pos
I sent him a question stating that the rear panel SHOULD be black UNLESS it was a bb Z10 or Z11
Here is his reply:

I'm sorry you are incorrect. Don't waste my time anymore, If I wanted
a CRITIC I would have called you. Shawn Truitt - Owner Lakeway Motors
Classic Cars
apparenly this Shawn is not only an EXPERT (he has sold over 200 69 Camaros you know), he is a - as well
davej Aug 25th, 07, 08:53 PM Im not surprised...
I unfortunately got burned by these guys at Lakeway motors about 18 months ago.
My car was bought on ebay. It was a 'FRESH SHOW QUALITY RESTORATION' and was to have completed an engine rebuild 5000 miles prior to the purchase and a trans rebuild.
I did not fly down to check it out, instead i entrusted carfax!. (never again).
As soon as it arived, it was ticking loudly, turns out it needed camshaft (lobes were worn), kept popping out of 2nd (needed syncro and reverse gear), suspension needed to be replaced (springs were sagging causing wheel to rub off the arch). THere are patched panels now showing through the paint on the drivers door corner. The list goes on..Im after putting $8000-$9000 into it after purchasing my car from them. Everything was just thrown together. It didnt come cheap either at $28k!
al8apexer Aug 26th, 07, 10:40 AM just look at the rest of the $hi_ they have listed on their website
gotta love single leaf rear ends with multileaf springs, aluminum front spring twist in spacers, convertible with no cocktail shakers, SS cars with 10 bolts and bowtie horn shrouds
(Sounds of dualing banjos in background)
they have been in business since 1994 and have sold over 200 69 camaros ...
really?
the convertible has the same "big block" heater core cover, an aftermarket one ....
total POS, all of them ...
buenymayor Aug 27th, 07, 02:47 AM He's been listing Camaro's on eBay for a long time. I used to look at his auctions, but as soon as I see Osage Beach anymore, I immediately leave his listing. You'd think since they've sold/done 200 Camaros that they would have it down to an art by now.
