Pr Rare Holley Z-28 CAMARO Crossram Carburetors 3941140 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270116743936&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=017)
are these stamps and dates original?? how about the price. I did an ebay search and I havn't seen any 4210 carbs change hands for a comparison. Are the holes fixable?
thanks team camaro

I am looking at the carb dates and appear to be mid year 68 carbs? I dont have my off road cataloge with me but will look for those part numbers. They also have progressive throttle plate linkage. The enclosed squirters are add ons. these are for runners of the center squirter carbs. Maybe someone else will chime in.

4210 carburetors are very rare. I am not sure about the repairs that would have to be done, I think I would contact Holley and ask their opinion before throwing the money down on them. The stampings look good, but it would be nice if there were a little more resolution in the photos.

Thanks Mike.. I was thinking they are rarer than 4295's...and worth more? Can I assume I could use them with the holes still in them...worse case??

While they are more rare (this is the first set I've ever seen on ebay, actually the only set I've seen for sale), I am not sure that that rarity directly equates to increased value. There are certainly far fewer 68 Z/28s compared to 69's, but that rarity does not always translate directly to the price point when comparing them to the '69 Z's that were produced in larger number.
In my experience with tuning my 4210s, I think the secondary squirters may be a good idea. With one squirter per carb, and the large plenum volume of the crossram manifold, it can be difficult to tune for a nice linear power curve. I am not ready to break out the drill, however. One thing is for sure, popping the air cleaner off and exposing the secondary squirters would really be a talking point at the local Steak 'n' Shake on Friday nights.

The hole in the air horn should not pose any issues even if left unplugged. The Eleco dual squirters made the carb think it was a center squirter, like the 4224 holley, feeding both front and rear venturi . You used these with the Rio 50cc accel pump. Needless to say, they are dinasours and conversational pieces. I recall Eleco as early on Honest Charley type company, real pioneers in after market speed equiptment.

As I recall, they were Eelco, weren't they?? And Don is right, the holes are not going to hurt anything by being there.
