it has been about 18 years since i had to do it. ;) after i unscrew the ring what do i have to do to get it off so the switch can come out the back.
(i am going to try to paint the dash) :p

put a paperclip or something in the little hole to the right, keep unscrewing the ring and it should come right off. i just did mine. (also painting top and face of the dash)

I forgot too Mark! Without doing my reserch is there a little hole in the face of the switch? if there is you need to turn the key on and stick the end of a paper clip in there and push. If not then thats for the 56 chevy it's all running together now!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO good luck:clonk:

Actually, I think you put the paperclip in the hole with the key OFF, press the paperclip to depress the spring and then turn the key counter clockwise and the key and lock should come out. Then unscrew the ring.

thanks ray, i will try that today. i have been jamming that paperclip and still no luck. i thought it had something to do with turning the key.

Turn key to acc first then the paper clip.The cylinder will come out then remove the Bezel nut. THE switch will come falling out of there

cornbread, you are the winner! i had to play with it for a while but i figured out that was the way. acc then paperclip = cylinder out.
