Stock is about 9.30 at best , you are only talking about 1/2" , I believe the main factor would be the air cleaner type and intake manifold design, id, hi rise, low rise, low profile air cleaner base, etc. You are talking sbc? Deck height is normally referred to when dealing with piston compression. Busted Knuckles May 7th, 07, 07:23 PM Don, I think he's talking big block. Most are factory cut to 9.800, zero is 9.780. Aftermarket blocks are the same size as factory, you can just stuff 'em with longer cranks and bigger pistons. pigiron May 7th, 07, 07:37 PM let me be more exact,9.8oo" deck height on the new world product warhawk ls7x block, small block, would like to go to 454 cubes and have header, steering column, etc. clearance, victor jr. intake,950 holley set up and sill have the cowl hood, thanks zdld17 May 8th, 07, 04:33 AM You are going where I have never been on the Ls X, Trial and error. Sorry. Busted Knuckles May 8th, 07, 04:49 AM Yup, me too, don :D I'd think it should compare to big blocks, though, but it all depends on intake, etc. I'll wait for the guys with more money and energy than me to sort out the LSX problems. Then I might consider switching from easier to work on big blocks. By the way, why World? GM has plenty of LSX blocks available and I understand the biggest will now go to 502 cubes. These are bowtie blocks that weigh as much as a cast iron big block! zdld17 May 8th, 07, 05:34 AM Greg, you have pm. |
