After many problems with my horn operation I have decided to replace my steering column with possibly an Ididit tilt column. Jegs lists kits for manual steering with both 30 and 36 splines for manual and a listing for power. No one else lists other than manual or power for u-joints or rag joints. Any input will be appreciated. Also, what else is needed for this column to match up with a grant steering whel? As it is, the box is a manual Z28 box and original tilt column with some apparent problems. Any input is appreciated.

Call the manufacturer, tell them what you have and are trying to do, get the correct part numbers and then order your stuff from Jegs or Summit or who ever has what you need. I have not had much luck with the mail order places picking out the right parts for me.
Good Luck!

Thanks Chuck, that is the path I am on. I think from what I have found that some catalog entries are bogus. Most are easy to figure out but retro can be difficult. i have seen a couple of installations but our local weekend show has dried up for now.

or remove the rag-joint and count the splines. It's either 3/4-30 or 3/4-36

I guess I was not very clear on the real question. Most restoration outlets only list the rag joint or u-joint as for power or manual. JEGS has both 30 & 36 splines listed for the manual. I have never been aware that there were two different splines offered by chevrolet for the manual box.
