I have a timing pointer that is for a 6 3/4 balancer and my balancer is 7 1/4. Was wondering if I can get away with this pointer or do I need to find one for a 7 1/4? Probably a real dumb question.

Dave, you could try to use it but I would check the clearance between the balancer and pointer tab. I see some for the 7" but you just need to check. You can purchase these adjustable types that allow you degree dead on. Maybe finish it off with some correct dia timing tape that will stay on. I have had good luck with spraying clear over all of the surface to seal.
