69 money pit

Hello, this is my first post on this site, I bought a 69 ss camaro that has had a RS front end put on it, for what ever reasons. My question is, will a standard grill fit the RS fenders? I was told that the headlight mounting brackets for the RS are different than a standard SS version. Thanks for you help in advance.

Standard headlights are attached to the core support, only. There are headlight mounting brackets in RS fenders, but none on standard fenders. The RS fenders will work with standard headlights, but not visa versa. You can convert standard to RS by welding an RS headlight bracket on a standard fender.

i just did a conversion from standard fenders to RS and used the tabs to convert the fenders to RS fenders, they worked great and they bolt in not weld as i have read about for so long i got my from NPD. but i so DESPERATELY need the RS fender emblem measurements surely someone has a RS they can measure the emblems.

To put a standard grill on RS fenders, you would have to bend the headlight bucket support tabs inward, so the grill can clear. Also, you would have to get new headlight buckets.
Are you sure your car is not an SS/RS? is all the headlight linkages, vacuum stuff there? Rear backup lights under the bumper?

I'm pretty sure the car is an SS and not a RS/SS, when I bought the car it came with an extra fender which I later found out was the original fender to the car, the paint matched up with the rest of the car once we started to sand the paint down. It looks like the car was hit on the right side and the whole front end replaced. The car does have a 1 1/4 sway bar that looks factory.
