I could use some help! I have a M-20 with new shifter. The transmission would shift into all gears than I brokr the motor/cam in for 20 min. and now I can only get it to go into 2nd and 4th! It will not even try to go into 1st or 3rd unless I disconnect the shifter than I can use a wrench and will than hit all gears. I have usd a alignment pin to ajust the shifter and before I ran the engine for the 20 min it would get all gears. What do you think? Thanks for your help!

Sounds like your shift rods still need adjustment. I never used a pin for final adjustment, just played with it until everything felt right & worked. Sometimes just a single thread turn will make a differance. Having someone else shift while you're adjusting sure helps.

I think a 1/4" drill bit will fit in the hole to help you adjust the linkage.

Make sure the pin goes through all the levers AND into the shifter housing....then align the rods.

make sure all the levers on the trany are in nuetral also after you install the pin thru the shifter

the holes are 3/8ths btw
insert the rod with shifter and tranny in neutral.

Just thought I would let you all know that the rear stop bolt was loose and durring the brake in run it must have tightned up! All works again. Ill be on the road soon now! check out my pics in the showroom and tell me what you think. 69 RSZ28 X33 D80 found in junk yard have Jl8 brakes home kit 12 bolt 373 and a 350 engine so far. need to find a reasonable 302 block all this for a small some of 13000!!! and lots and lots of sweat!!!
