Can anyone recommend a good book of "how to" things to do to a big block engine. Like deburring the block, polishing rear main cap where oil pump sits, and chamfering oil holes, etc... Like little secrets that engine builders do that normal people wouldn't know. I'm building a 498 and want it to be perfect.:D

I have several books on BBCs and that "How to HotRod.." is the best of them all in my opinion.

I would add to the mix:

http://www.amazon.com/HP-Books-HP1216-Big-Block-Performance/dp/B000CMHOZA/ref=sr_1_2/104-1522833-1065536?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1178916849&sr=8-2

At least untill I get around to writing my own book.

I have this book and it gives some good information. I think there may be better books though.

Maybe not Wes. There's a reason these engine are SOOOOOO much more popular than others such as the street Hemi. They just don't need too much fancy prep-work to go fast and stay together. Remember, GM engineers smile in their sleep.
