Hello hello how are you all doing, well im not to fine i have a quick question and hoping that you might be able to help, I have a 1988 Camaro and the factory instrument cluster has been damaged, now im looking to upgrade since i have to replace it, the old speedo maxed out at 85 m.p.h. and i have bought a factory instrument cluster that runs up to 145 m.p.h. what if any cables and so forth will i need to replace to make this upgrade run properly, old cluster contained 85 m.p.h. double tipped needle for k.p.h, r.p.m. gauge, oil pressure gauge, water temp, fuel, and volt gauge, now all gauges and readings are the same with the exception of the speedo meter, between the two clusters, please help

if only the speedometer is different I would think that all the wiring and everything will be just fine, as long as the speedo is mechanical
is there a cable that screws into the back of the speedo? or is it just electrical?

Hi Douglas,
I did this conversion for a friend of mine many years ago. Once you change the speedometer cable, the rest is a direct bolt in with no other modifications or alterations required.

So you are suggesting that i need to replace the speedo cable as well, the complete speedo cable ?

Hi Doulas,
I had to change the speedo cable because I also added cruise control. I apologize for the mis information. It was a long time ago.
Best Regards,
