I have a 68 camar with very few spots of bare metal that I keep finding so I spray them with primer in a can. My Car is like 1/2 primer and half the original color. How much about would it cost to get it primered so I dont have to worry about rust, even though my car sits under a car cover most of the time. Also does anyone know of a god performance shop for camaros in Northern califorina, especially sacramento area? Like places that will do stuff that I am too scared to do, like weld roofs and stuff like that? Cause im only 17 and I have big plans for my camaro. Im determined to make it pro touring ready by the time im 26, after college and stuff. Im studying mechanical engineering so everyone wil proably drive a car designed by me. Ill bring back the Camaro in 2008 so help me out. THanks

I would not primer the car. Primer does not stop rust and does not seal (well it does to a certain extent but not like paint). You are better off keeping the original paint on there and on any bare metal spots hit it with a spray bomb, PAINT not primer. The paint seals.

Good luck

There are sealing primers out there and a beautiful thing Sprayable purple putty. It's like a thick primer that fills small areas. The results after this and paint are OUTSTANDING!.. smooth as glass (yes wetsanding is still needed http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif )But Thomas is right if you are going to do anything with bare metal spots.. Prime and paint Immediately..Can or gun if you cannot afford a new good paint job.. touch it up.. I would rather my paint be slightly off in places then have a car with primer all over it in random places.
