Just got my 69 camaro, passenger door is fine, driver door isn't as smooth when closing, thus you either have to slam it harder, or lift a little to help it to close. Its not the striker plate, thats lined up fine. So it looks like I need to adjust the hinge connection to the cowl at the top correct? What is the best way to approach this? It looks like I might be able to get away without removing the fender/hood, am I correct in this thought process? Maybe open the door slightly, jack the hanging end up maybe an inch higher than it should sit, loosen the top hing bolts using a wrench?, let the hinge slide to the left slightly, retighten, lower jack and see if it needs adjusting further?

Sounds like you need to buy a hinge pin and bushing rebuild kit. You can purchase these from many parts suppliers like Rick's First Generation for about $15 a side. Not sure if local parts store would have them or not. I would try this and see if it brings your door back up to where it should be.

Yep! Sounds like a worn hinge to me. You may need to replace the hinge pins on that side.

You can get the hinge pins and bushings at NAPA or the HELP section of other auto parts stores. Take an old one with you to make sure you get the right ones.

Look at your door pilar where the door hinges attach to the car. Mine got radical rust thanks to hawaiian salt and caused a droop. One of the guys on the board prefers having the fender off to adjust the doors. He found it's much easier to access the bolts.
