Hey folks, I've more or less got my '79 Berlinetta 350 4 barrel (Qjet) straightened out and running like new again, after it suffered severe negligence in the hands of the previous owners, but I'm getting a howl type noise out of the rear end. I have replaced just about everything under there--axles, wheel bearings, and I've filled up all the fluid, but that didn't seem to help. The noise is most intense right around 45-50 mph, or about 1600 rps in third. It keeps going on up to a fairly high pitched whine at highway speed. It responds the the gas pedal, more or less, going away when I stop giving it gas, but it comes back as the car slows through the 45 mph speed again. Any idea what could be the culprit?
Thanks
Joe
