IT'S A FORD, I KNOW
I am changing my gasket and filter on my Wife's 1970 Mustang C4 transmission. When I took the bolts out of the filter and removed it a Spring with a small valve\pin fell out into the pan. I can see where it fits into a hole in the valve body and is held in place and compressed by the filter. Question: Does the valve/pin side of the spring/valve go Up or down??

I read where they call it a throttle pressure limit valve. if it is not installed correctly you can have slow shifts.
Does anyone know the orientation of this valve?
Heres a line from a repair guide but they give no indication of the way it is installed.

Remove the eight screws that attach the oil screen to the body and remove the screen and gasket. Be careful not to lose the throttle pressure limit valve and spring when separating the oil screen from the valve body

Here is a picture of where it fell from

Might as well do it right,,, drain oil out of convertor or what will come out. Refill with couple extra quarts and read at dip stick.
