I mix 10 gal of 94 gas with 5 gal of VP 113 racing fuel or about for a great running car. Its about $7.00 a gal here for the racing fuel. After I started runnin the VP..my engine had more power, stopped pinging and ran much cooler too. Once you run it..you will never go without it.

Av gas is leaded... it is safe and usually you are not paying "road taxes"

Around here Sonoco 110 leaded is about $5-6/gal...

HECK NO!
youll melt your pistons!
I know I did it with my dirt bike years ago.
avgas was formulated for high altitude and burns hotter.
(i know this cuz I used to fuel aircraft while in the Navy)
Or you can listen to others that really dont know anything about AVGAS and take a chance.
Avgas has a lower volatility than mogas (i.e. it does not evaporate as quickly), which can be important for high-altitude use and higher temperatures. The particular mixtures in use today are the same as when they were first developed in the 1950s and 1960s, and therefore the high-octane ratings are achieved by the addition of tetra-ethyl lead (TEL), a highly toxic substance that was phased out for car use in most countries in the 1980s. The main petroleum component used in blending avgas is alkylate, which is essentially a mixture of various isoctanes, and some refineries also use some reformate.

Avgas is currently available in several grades with differing maximum lead concentrations. Since TEL is a rather expensive additive, a minimum amount of it is typically added to the fuel to bring it up to the required octane rating so actual concentrations are often lower than the maximum.

100 low lead avgas is fine have used it for a while at 12 to 1. if you were gonna melt pistons you would do it in a aircraft....they are air cooled and run pretty high cylinder head temps, oh yea.......i'm a pilot. if you melted a piston in a dirt bike....2 stroke i guess............sounds like you had it too lean.

There is a small gas station in Adamstown or Bucyeystown can't remember the name but they had cam 2 110 octane for 4.99/gal, granted that was about 6 months ago. If you need more info I can find out for you - Rob

oh, it's on rt 85 south of Frederick about 3-4 miles.

I used to in the 80's as well but it became too hard to get with all the restrictions after 911.
Sport racing 110 LL is available here for $6.33/gallon taxes included.I usually add 5 gallons of it and then top off w/91 pump gas.Plugs look great and I recently pulled just over 430RWHP in the '69...dyno operator said the air/fuel mixture on the computer was about perfect.
