Chris..
I believe all 68s had chrome trim. The other GM models had painted. See what others say but I am almost certain that is the case.

I'm with Kev on that. I have never seen them any other way from the factory.

Chris are you talking about the marker light bezel or the marker light? All bezels were chrome like the previous guys posted. But as far as the marker light that mounts under it I've seen them both ways with a chrome or stainless band around the perimeter or without. My current 68SS I just replaced the bezels on and they were without the stainless or chrome band around them, just red with a white plastic back on the rear and amber with a white plastic back on the front.

...to add to what Dave said, ...the original marker lights on the '68 Camaro did not come with the trim. The marker lights with the trim I believe we used on the Novas. Since the lights are otherwise the same, ...they are often interchanged (and for the most part unnoticeable either way). It may even be that the 'trimmed' lights 'superceded' the non-trimmed, ...I don't know that for sure.

Yeah I wasnt sure about the chrome around the lens itself. IT doesnt seem to fit quite right! I think Im going to have to remove the chrome piece to get a good seal. Thanks Guys.

yes you have to remove chrome trim, various fitmets for same lens led to aplication of chome easy removal.

The chrome trim isn't what seals the light to the sheet metal. It is the light bezel performing the sealing function.
The chrome trim just holds the bezel in place and the two nuts get sealed from the inside.

I think.
