I had this guy do my bodywork and paint on my 68 camaro. I bought the car as a project car and the condition of the car was ok. The interior was stripped and the car ran so it was a work in progress. I took the car to the shop and the guys there said that the interior and floor pan was okay and it was just surface rust no big deal. Well I'm worried about the floors and the bad patch job by the previous owner and I want to get the floor pans and trunk pans replaced. I'm pissed at the body shop telling me it was fine and going ahead with the body work even after I asked if we should do the floors. Now I need to find a shop in the Sacramento Area who can help me fix up my interior for a decent price. I talked to the guys at gearhead and they are show car expensive and this is not going to be a showcar. I need some decent shops that can do some of this interior work on my car. I want someone who can take care of surface rust, and finish up my floor and trunk. Do you guys have any recommendations for shops and also for getting this project back on track.

So just how bad are your floors and trunk? Pin holes, metal flaking apart, gaping holes? If they are rusty but still solid with just pin holes or not much larger rust through you can fix this yourself without a patch panel or torch. POR-15 sells a trunk and floor pan repair kit. Comes with everything you need and instructions. It's a lot of work but that's labor you won't be paying someone else...

My floors were not in need of the full kit, I cleaned them up and painted them with POR-15 Metal Mask. Check it out... http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=107790

Yea I have Rust Doctor which is similar to POR-15 and haven't used it yet because I need a shop to take a look at it and tell me if it's really that bad. No holes really or very very very small pin holes just a lot of surface rust and some very annoying patch panels. I was thinking about using POR 15 on everything as well even on the underside of the car.
